Canvas & utility bar

The builder canvas uses a subtle peg grid background so cards feel locked to a workspace. Steps stack vertically in a fixed center column with dashed connectors between them.

Selecting vs reordering

• Cursor mode — click a card to open the inspector drawer on the right.
• Reorder mode — drag a card onto another slot to snap a new order. That updates step position only (it does not move steps between sequences).

Utility rail

A floating icon rail sits on the left. Icons expand on hover to show a label. From top to bottom:

1. + — add a step type; new steps append to the end of the sequence
2. Cursor — select / edit mode
3. Reorder — drag-and-drop snap mode
4. Carl — open the half-page Ask Carl overlay
5. Save — manual save; green check when clean; tooltip shows autosave countdown
6. Warnings — only visible when validation finds issues
7. Support — opens this docs section
